Dr. Oz's Morning Stretching Routine.

Have you done your
morning stretch?

As you can see I am still busy with mine!

Often, stretching is overlooked because the results are not that obvious and noticeable compared to if you were going to the gym to do cardio or picking up weights. According to In Shape Magazine, stretching helps to reduce aches and pains in your body as well as leading to better posture.

Follow the 3 simple steps to doing a quick-stretch routine in the morning | Recommended by Dr. Oz:

Step 1: The Hippie
Pretend your head weighs 500 pounds, and let it pull you down. Bend one knee and hold for 15 seconds, then change legs.

Step 2: The Pecs Flex
As you lift your hands as high as possible, squeeze your shoulder blades together and open your chest.

Step 3: The Leaning Tower
Try to elongate your body by creating the greatest amount of distance possible between your left pinkie and your left heel. Hold for 15 seconds, then switch sides.

In a matter of seconds, you can feel much better by improving your flexibility and strength by just stretching!

Since, stretching is undoubtably good in many ways. If you have more time in the morning (i.e. 7 minutes worth) watch the video below to see how to do Dr. Oz's 7-minute routine that includes both strength building exercises as well as yoga!

Tip: If you do a bit of yoga first thing in the morning, it can double your metablic rate.

As a reminder, always consult your doctor for medical advice and treatment before starting any program

Wishing you happy stretching!
