FRI-YAY | FUR-YAY

Since, it is the weekend there is at least some time to get your hands on not only this Gigi Faux Fur Small Bag (above) but also to decide on whether you would go for a white or pink sleeveless fur coat (see below)?

What I love about the sleeveless fur coats is that it is something different to the usual long trench coats for winter that always seem to take up endless amounts of space in the wardrobe. The nice thing is that this fur coat can be worn with any long sleeve underneath and it will still keep you equally as warm because of the soft, thick layer of fur covering your chest and back. See below what colour I chose.

I decided to buy the white sleeveless fur coat  from Forever New (R899) because I liked the image that I had in head of wearing it with a plain white long-sleeve top underneath (see picture below).

The weekend I decided to wear my white fluffy jacket, I walked into Zara and I thought that maybe I just saw myself from the corner of my eye walking past the mirror until I realised no, you are actually not going as crazy as what you think and that I did see the exact same fluffy jacket that I was wearing in the background. I  turned right away and got all excited, why I do not even know but I just had to take a picture of me next to my splitting image hanging on a hanger. Not only was the jacket spotted in white but to the right was also a pinky colour which was certainly some kind of double trouble going on.

Although, after taking a closer look at the two fur coats they were not entirely identical to the one's from Forever New but it made me think that it would be a good idea to compare and contrast them and give you my opinion; because not only would you have to decide on the colour it would be a matter of also deciding on the store too.

Firstly, I looked at was the price of the jacket at Zara, to see if it differed significantly to that of the one from Forever New. The one from Zara is R859 which is slightly cheaper to the one from Forever New that is R899.
Secondly, the length of the coats from Zara is slightly longer than the one I was wearing from Forever New. Personally, I prefer the shorter length one because I have hips (that don't lie) and if the fur coat cuts you right in the middle of your hips then it tends to make them look bigger than what they already are. However, if you prefer a coat that has extra length then I would look at the one's from Zara.
Thirdly, the texture and feel of the white fur jackets at both stores seemed to be the same, soft and fluffy however in terms of the pink fur the feel seems to be a lot more like hair and a bit more course as well as the colour of the two is also different shades of pink.

Although, the white fur coat may not seem so practical because it is white understandably and could get dirty very easily. That is why I try not wear it all the time and I swop between other jackets and coats but when I do then I will wear it if I go shopping (as seen in the picture above) or to places where I know it would be less likely to get dirty.
