Met Gala | 04 May '15

Last night, the ladies certainly stunned the red carpet in their glamourous couture as they were lead into the Metropolitan Museum of Art for one of the biggest fashion parties on the social calendar. Let's just say that there were certainly no disappointments from the stars in New York City on May, 4!

We got to see over 500 Oscar-winning actresses and actors, fashion designers, Hollywood players and more dress up in their ensembles to this years spring 2015 Costume Institute exhibit "China: Through The Looking Glass". The Metropolitan Museum of Art was dedicated to Chinese fashion as it was filled with Chinese art and rare artifacts showcased for the stars along with interpretations of Chinese dresses by Western designers namely Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano. Silas Chou was the host to this years R300 000 per ticket Met Gala affair.

Here is some of the celebs topping our list of best dressed from the Met Ball:

Gigi Hadid wearing a custom designed red dress for the Met Gala | by Diane von Furstenberg.

Queen B(eyonce)! in her completely sheer tight-fitted Givenchy gown pulling one of the fiercest poses sided by her blonde hair tied up in a high ponytail and tan wedges to show off her dazzling dress.

Kim Kardashian West arrived in a very revealing  Roberto Cavalli dress that was designed to hug her famous curves with sparkling silver crystals and a long white train covered in feathers to follow her every foot step. Alongside, the reality star was her husband - Kanye West who was dressed in an all-black velvet-like Balmain garment.

Okay, wait. Hold up. Is that even Rihanna? Oh, yes it is! Rihanna certainly caught everyone's attention when she stepped onto the red carpet with a rich yellow Guo Pei gown detailed in heavy embroidery and fur trimming, but that's not all and wait for it ... the longest train of them all that required 4 people to help carry it, as she poses for a picture. While, there was just enough skin showing as she completed the look with a golden headpiece and silver sky-high heels to match the embroidery on the dress.

Jennifer Lopez dressed in a red Atelier Versace dress that had sheer cutouts showing just the right amount of skin.

While, Sarah Jessica Parker we just not too sure whether she makes the list for the best or worst dressed as she seemed to have shocked many at the Met Gala with over-the-top red and white flame-like fascinator made by Philip Treacy. However, on our list she will at least make it for trying to fit in with the theme as a potential Chinese icon. We will certainly give it to you that wearing this enormous headpiece was a daring move for the red carpet.

Who would top your list of best dressed from the Met Ball?
