This is definitely so true. I can remember countless times when I had gone shopping that day and I didn't buy something either because I wasn't so sure about it or it was maybe something that I could actually do without but you still wanted it.
Then of course, it always happens that the minute you put something down and you have reconciled yourself to the fact that you will leave it, then someone else picks it up.
So what do you do, a complete 360 where your mind says to you that you just have to have this thing again. To follow through with this thought, you start to follow the person around the whole store hopeing that by some chance they may end up putting it down, somewhere - just anywhere would be good!
Besides feeling like a complete stalker, I have found myself lucky where I am like: "Yes! I got you again, baby" but other times I have been disappointed where I would end up buying something else I liked to make me feel better or to just get fat on soft-serve ice-cream.
To complicate things even further, is those times when you really wanted something but you were not sure about so you put it down and left it. Then again, of course - the minute you leave the shop and you get home you just cannot get this thing out of your mind so you ponder some more and then think to yourself that I should have just bought it. Bearing in mind, that it was the only one left in the store.
So, before you go to bed you think of a plan of how you going to get this thing, hopeing that someone else hasn't taken it already because by this time it is too late to phone anyone to ask to keep it aside since you have changed your mind that now you want it.
Numerous times, I have had sleepless nights worrying about something I had not bought so what might seem super crazy - I decided to wake up extremely early (when it is still dark outside) to make sure that I am the first person in the store the next morning.
At least, when this has happened I can safely say that I managed to find and get my hands on the thing that I wanted the next morning - probably, because my sleepless night spent worrying and waking up extra early paid off.
The moral of the story is that if you see something you like, don't think twice, just buy the thing - dammit!
